Mood (Music of Our Desire) is one of Europe’s most comprehensive music event discovery platforms. It helps fans easily find concerts, techno parties, raves, rebetiko nights, jazz shows, and festivals across multiple cities.
The platform aggregates events from many sources. It covers over 20,000 events per year in Athens alone, across 300+ venues. Mood is now expanding to other European cities.
My Connection with Mood
I connected with the young Greek team in the early days, before the official launch. I joined their Advisory Board and have supported the project as needed since then.
It has been rewarding to help a passionate Greek startup build a better way for people to discover live music.
Key Achievements
Mood has achieved strong early success. It became the number 1 downloaded app in its category in Greece. The company also secured investment from Genesis Ventures and from Lars Rasmussen, co-founder of Google Maps and co-founder of Panathēnea.
Scale & Reach
Mood operates at a massive scale, especially in Athens:
- 20,000+ events per year in Athens
- 1,000+ active venues
- 6,500+ music genres covered
The platform now covers multiple European cities with impressive numbers:
- Amsterdam: 16,000+ events/year
- Thessaloniki: 6,000+ events/year
- Paris: 2,000+ events/year
- Berlin: 2,000+ events/year
- Bucharest & Rotterdam: 3,000+ events/year each
And many more cities including Patras, Cluj-Napoca, and Timișoara.
These milestones highlight the quality of the team and the strong potential of the platform.
What Mood Does
Mood brings all live music events together in one place. Users can:
- Browse events by city, date, genre, or venue.
- Get personalized recommendations.
- Find and compare tickets easily.
- Discover both big concerts and underground parties.
The platform is particularly strong in Athens, covering techno, house, rebetiko, jazz, rock, electronic, and more. It now includes events in cities across Greece, the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Romania.
Why Mood Matters
Finding live music used to be scattered across many websites, social media pages, and ticket platforms. Mood solves this by collecting everything in one simple app, available on iOS and Android.
This makes it easier for fans to discover events and for artists and venues to reach audiences.
Personal Reflection
Supporting Mood has been a great experience. It shows the value of helping passionate teams build practical tools that serve both artists and fans.
I remain committed to creating better systems and opportunities in the wider music ecosystem.
